Meta Business Suite vs Kampi, what each one really does

Meta Business Suite is a good tool, free, and whoever already manages a page with it is doing the right thing. Its problem is not the scheduling, but what happens the moment before: someone still needs to decide what to publish, write it and design it. On this page we explain exactly where each of the two stops, so you know whether the free tool is enough for you or you need something that prepares the content itself.

What Meta Business Suite does for free and does well

Meta Business Suite is Meta's official management board for a Facebook page and a business Instagram account. It costs nothing, it is connected directly to the source, and because it is Meta's own there is no middle layer that can break. That is a real advantage and it would not be fair to ignore it.

The things it does well are mostly operational: scheduling posts to Facebook and Instagram from one place, a calendar that shows what is planned ahead, a unified inbox that gathers private messages and comments, performance data at the account level and at the single-post level, and permission management for who accesses the assets. Alongside it sits the ads manager, which is Meta's serious tool for paid campaigns, with full control of budget, audiences and stopping a running campaign.

If you are looking for social media management software that does exactly that, there is no reason to pay for another layer. Meta Business Suite will do the job, and it is also the tool we ourselves recommend our own customers keep open.

  • Scheduling posts on Facebook and Instagram from the same screen, at no cost
  • A calendar showing what is already planned ahead
  • A unified inbox for private messages and comments
  • Detailed performance data, including at the single-post level
  • Permission and user management over the business assets
  • A direct connection to the ads manager for paid campaigns

How to schedule a post on Facebook and Instagram through Meta, step by step

The process itself is short, and once you do it one time it becomes routine. Note that Meta changes its screens every few months, so the exact names may look a little different for you. The logic stays the same.

Before starting you need two things: a business Facebook page, and an Instagram account of the business or creator type linked to that page. Without that link you will not be able to schedule a post to Instagram from the computer, and that is the point where most people get stuck.

If you are scheduling to both networks together, remember that text that works on Facebook does not always work on Instagram. Facebook is more tolerant of long text and links, Instagram likes a short opening. You can edit the text separately for each network before scheduling.

  • Go into Meta Business Suite and make sure you are in the right business account
  • Make sure the Instagram account is linked to the Facebook page, otherwise scheduling to Instagram will not be available
  • Open a new post creation from the planning or posts area
  • Mark which assets the post goes out to, the Facebook page, the Instagram account or both
  • Upload the image or video you prepared in advance
  • Write the text, and adapt it separately for each network if needed
  • Choose scheduling instead of immediate publishing, and set a date and hour
  • Check the preview and confirm the scheduling
  • Go back to the calendar to make sure the post really sits on the right date

Where the free tool stops: the question of what to publish

All the steps above start from one assumption: that you already have a ready post. An image or a video, text, and preferably a version that fits a story or a reel. Meta Business Suite will produce none of them for you. It is the pipe, not the source.

In practice, that is exactly where many small businesses get stuck. Not because they do not know where the scheduling button is, but because on Tuesday evening they have no idea what to publish on Wednesday morning. The calendar stays empty, and after two weeks the page is quiet again. An excellent scheduling tool with nothing to schedule solves nothing.

There is also a second layer, less talked about: consistency. One successful publication is not worth much. What works is a sequence, and a sequence demands a plan ahead, not an ad hoc decision every single time. Meta does not build you a content plan, it hands you an empty calendar and wishes you luck.

That is the gap Kampi was built for. The system builds a content plan, produces the creative itself, text and visual, in four formats: Instagram post, reel, story and Facebook post. It serves it to you for approval, and only after you approved does the publishing go out on schedule. You still decide what goes out, you just do not start from a blank page.

A full comparison table between the two

A comparison like this tends to be biased toward whoever wrote it, so we tried to keep it fair. There are rows where Meta Business Suite is simply better, and they are marked in the table exactly like every other row.

The principle that explains most of the differences is this: Meta is an operations tool, Kampi is a system that produces content and publishes it. The first helps you execute, the second helps you decide and then executes. Both are limited to Facebook and Instagram, there are no other networks on either side.

What Kampi does not do, and where Meta is better

Three points important to know before, not after. They are not in our fine print, they are here in the middle of the page.

First, paid campaigns. Paid campaign management with us is included in the Pro and Extra plans, and that is one of the two distinctions between Basic and Pro; the second is My Media storage, 75MB on Basic against 135MB on Pro. Meta's ads manager of course remains available to you directly, and the media budget is paid directly to Meta in any case and we do not take a percentage of it. On the Basic plan we do not manage the paid side, and whoever wants us to handle that too picks Pro or Extra.

Second, data. Our Performance room shows what actually went out: publishing days, number of creatives and formats per campaign, filtered by Facebook or Instagram. And when there is no real data, the screen says so and does not invent numbers. Per-post metrics, reach, clicks, likes and comments, appear in our publishing journal, and for deeper slicing Meta's insights add another layer for free.

Third, messages. We have no inbox, and we do not read private messages and do not collect followers. That is a deliberate decision. Both for privacy reasons and because it is simply not the product. You will keep managing conversations with your customers in Meta Business Suite or in the app, as always.

Two more things people ask about. Instagram content that already went out, a post, reel or story, cannot be deleted from our screen, because the permission to delete on the account's behalf is not approved for us at Meta yet. Removal is done from the Instagram app, and a story comes down on its own after 24 hours. A Facebook post, on the other hand, can be removed from the channel at any moment. And as for the creative itself, before approval you can request an alternative, edit the text and swap the image, but there is no free-form editing of the design itself like in a graphics program.

Who the free tool is enough for and who it is not

The rule is simple: if you have content, Meta is enough. If you have no content, no scheduling tool will save you.

Meta Business Suite is enough for you if there is someone in the business who already produces content, a designer or a photographer, a part-time student or even the owner who enjoys it. In that case all you need is a pipe, and the official free pipe is the right choice. Also if you publish rarely, say once every two weeks when there is news, there is no reason to pay for a system.

On the other hand, if the internal conversation at your place sounds like well, we need to put something up, and it drags for two weeks, your problem is not the scheduling. If you already tried maintaining an empty calendar and it stayed empty, if there is nobody in the business who will open a design file, or if you are willing to pay precisely so you do not have to think about this every week, that is where a system that produces the content earns back the investment.

There is also a third case, whoever works today with an agency or freelancer and it costs more than they want. We will not quote you market price ranges because we have no grounded figure to lean on, but you know your own invoice. The relevant comparison is between what you pay today and our prices, and between the level of control you get in each.

  • You have someone who produces content: Meta Business Suite is enough
  • You publish rarely and with no need for a sequence: Meta Business Suite is enough
  • You manage paid advertising: Meta's ads manager is the place, and with us paid management is included in the Pro and Extra plans
  • Nobody in the business will write and design: Kampi answers the gap
  • The page stays quiet for months and you want a sequence: Kampi answers the gap
  • You want to approve content, not deal with preparing it: Kampi answers the gap

What it costs: free versus the Basic, Pro and Extra plans

Meta Business Suite costs nothing. There is no premium version and no tiers. A media budget, if you run paid advertising, is completely separate and it goes to Meta in any case.

Kampi has three plans, Basic, Pro and Extra. There are two differences between Basic and Pro: paid campaign management, which is included in Pro and Extra, and My media storage, 75MB on Basic against 135MB on Pro. Extra adds capacity on top of Pro: up to 3 connected accounts of each channel type and 250MB of My media storage. The Basic plan costs 149 shekels a month, 399 shekels for three months, 700 shekels for six months and 1,250 shekels for a year. The Pro plan is exactly double: 298 shekels a month, 798 shekels for three months, 1,400 shekels for six months and 2,500 shekels for a year. The Extra plan costs 447 shekels a month, 1,199 shekels for three months, 2,100 shekels for six months and 3,750 shekels for a year. Everything is paid up front for the whole period, with no automatic card renewal, meaning when the period ends it simply ends and you decide anew whether to continue. The price is public and fixed, the same for every customer, with no negotiation. A tax invoice receipt is sent automatically by email.

The right way to look at it is not free versus not free, but what you buy with the difference. The difference is not a scheduling button, which you get from Meta for free. The difference is the content plan and the creatives themselves, as post, reel and story, meaning the part without which the calendar stays empty.

Because there is no automatic renewal, you will not find yourself paying without noticing. That is deliberate.

You can use both side by side

This is not an either-or question, and it is also the division of labor we recommend. The pages and accounts remain yours, nobody takes your keys, and Meta Business Suite stays available to you exactly as before.

The division we recommend looks roughly like this: Kampi produces the ongoing content and sends it out on schedule, and Meta Business Suite stays open for three things it does better. The private messages and comments, the reach and engagement data including at the single-post level, and any paid advertising.

There is no technical conflict between the two. A post that went out through us appears in Meta's tools exactly like any other post on the page, because it simply is a post on the page. Even if you scheduled something manually in Meta for a certain date, it will keep going out as usual.

And if one day you decide to stop, you take the page and the account and the content that was already published and continue on your own. There is no lock-in.

Frequently asked questions

Questions and answers

Can I schedule a post to Facebook and Instagram at the same time?

Yes, in both tools. In Meta Business Suite you mark both assets on the post creation screen, provided the Instagram account is a business account linked to the Facebook page. In Kampi it happens as part of the content plan, which lays out an Instagram post, a reel, a story and a Facebook post anyway. In both cases it is worth adapting the text to each network, because Facebook tolerates long text and Instagram prefers a short opening.

If Meta Business Suite is free, why would I pay for Kampi?

If you have someone who writes and designs, do not pay. Really. The scheduling itself is the same in both places and Meta gives it for free. You pay when the missing part is what to publish, meaning the content plan, the text and the visual as post, reel and story. That is what you buy with the difference, not the scheduling button.

If I start with Kampi, will I need to close Meta Business Suite?

No, and you should not. It stays open for you for managing private messages and comments, for reach and engagement data including at the single-post level, and for any paid advertising. A post that went out through us is a regular post on your page, so it shows up there as usual.

Does Kampi also publish on TikTok, LinkedIn or WhatsApp?

No. Facebook and Instagram only. That is a product decision: we chose to do these two networks well instead of spreading a thin layer over more channels. If you need management of additional networks, we are not the address and better that you know it now.

Can I manage a paid campaign from inside Kampi?

Yes, in the Pro and Extra plans. Paid campaign management is one of the two differences between the Basic plan and the Pro plan, alongside My media storage, 75MB on Basic against 135MB on Pro. The Extra plan includes everything in Pro and adds capacity. The media budget itself is paid directly to Meta in your own account in any case, and we do not take a percentage of it. On the Basic plan the paid advertising stays in your hands through Meta's ads manager.

Can I see in Kampi how many impressions a specific post got?

No. We have no reach data at the single-post level, and we do not display numbers that did not come from Meta. What there is, is a Performance room that gathers what actually went out, publishing days, creatives and formats per campaign, filtered by channel. For the reach numbers themselves look in Meta's insights, where it exists and for free.

I published a story and want to take it down, can I?

Not from our screen, and that is true for an Instagram post and reel as well. Deleting Instagram content is not available from inside Kampi yet, so removal is done from within the Instagram app. A story also comes down on its own after 24 hours. A Facebook post, on the other hand, can be removed from the channel at any moment, and that does exist with us on the Live now screen.

If I do not like a creative, what can I do with it?

Before approval you can request an alternative, edit the text and swap the image, and you can also simply not approve and then nothing goes out. What there is not is free-form editing of the design itself like in a graphics program, and there is also no mechanism that learns from your corrections for next time. The direction is set in advance in the brand kit and the content plan, and those you can update.

What happens at the end of the period, do I get charged automatically?

No. There is no automatic card renewal. When the period you purchased ends it simply ends, and you decide anew whether to continue. A tax invoice receipt is sent automatically by email after every payment.

Who owns the page and the account while working with you?

You, all the way. The pages and accounts remain yours, we do not read private messages and do not collect followers. If you decide to stop, you continue on your own with everything that was already published.
